"The Band Went Green!"

Studio 3 has been working very hard on an environmental musical, "The Band Went Green!", and would like to invite all parents to a special performance on May 23 at 1:00 PM. We would like to have refreshments afterwards. Please contact me if you would like to help with the punch, cookies, veggies or chips/dip, fruit, etc. (Maybe even a "Go Green" cake or cupcakes!)

Thanks!

Great News!

The Learning Center has purchased Brain Child for Studio 3 and many students have already completed one or more categories in Language Arts, Math, or Science.  Please see previous blog for username and password information. I'm very pleased with the progress students are making and I'd like to encourage parents to work with their child at home, if possible. Our goal is to complete the program by the end of the year!

Brainchild.com

Studio 3 will be using brainchild.com for the next couple of weeks in the classroom and during our mobile lab time. This is a trial version of this program, so please allow your child to access this site as much as possible during the next two weeks! If you are interested in purchasing the program for home use, it is available by monthly subscription. I have used this program in previous years and thought it to be very beneficial to my students. :)

Third Quarter Already!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break. I was without a computer for awhile and I'm happy to be back online! I'm very excited about the second half of the school year and seeing the growth students have already made. Studio 3 made some great gains on their MAP scores!

It's hard to believe the third quarter is here and we're half way through this school year. We have ongoing enrichment and remediation in progress and want to stress the importance of attendance, arriving on time, and completing homework and assignments in a timely manner. Many of our activities cannot be made up at home and your child will miss valuable instruction if they are not here.

    Highest Mum Sales!

Congratulations to Studio 3 for selling the most mums for our fundraiser! We will have a Pizza Party in our room tomorrow. I will be furnishing Capri-Suns and carrot sticks. Students are welcome to bring their own drinks if they like.

Thank you to everyone that worked so hard!

    Homework Packets

Please keep homework packets in your folder and return them to school every day. (these are always needed for students going to Aftercare) We will be going over some of the math problems during the day and students may have some extra time to work on their packets when they finish their morning work. For morning work we do Mountain Language, Daily Oral Language, and cursive handwriting. Students may work on their Word Wall Words in cursive during this time. We, also, complete our behavior report from the previous day every morning.

I really like how my third graders are growing and accepting responsibility! I've stressed that we are almost half-way through the year and I'm expecting to see more and more growth as the year progresses. Keep up the good work!
