Congratulations to Studio 3 for selling the most mums for our fundraiser! We will have a Pizza Party in our room tomorrow. I will be furnishing Capri-Suns and carrot sticks. Students are welcome to bring their own drinks if they like.
Thank you to everyone that worked so hard!

Homework Packets
Please keep homework packets in your folder and return them to school every day. (these are always needed for students going to Aftercare) We will be going over some of the math problems during the day and students may have some extra time to work on their packets when they finish their morning work. For morning work we do Mountain Language, Daily Oral Language, and cursive handwriting. Students may work on their Word Wall Words in cursive during this time. We, also, complete our behavior report from the previous day every morning.
I really like how my third graders are growing and accepting responsibility! I've stressed that we are almost half-way through the year and I'm expecting to see more and more growth as the year progresses. Keep up the good work!

The year is 1927 and Gutzon Borglum is using dynamite to sculpt Mount Rushmore. Studio 3 has helped him out by answering questions about the four presidents whose images are carved into the mountain.
Flat Stanley and his family are visiting Mount Rushmore. We know from the title of the book there's going to be some kind of calamity. What do you think is going to happen? Stay tuned....

Third Grade Techies!
Third graders are doing a fantastic job with their online studies. They are Super Star Techies! At least once a week, each student has an opportunity to work on their own laptop and visit some outstanding educational sites to work on assignments given by their teacher. So far, we have worked on telling time, rounding numbers, counting money, and practicing our multiplication facts. You can find all of these activities under our Math links.
In Language Arts, we have worked on our Word Wall Words, continents, days of the week, and months of the year. All of these activities can be found in the form of lists under Spelling City.
We have read about Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, and Alexander Graham Bell online. (Social Studies link) There are a couple of activities for continents and oceans here, also. If you have the Internet, please allow your child to work on any of the activities mentioned above.
Thanks,
Ms. Carol
